Gregorio P. Uy & Lee Peng Scholarship Foundation's (GPULP) history exemplifies the founders' commitment to make education more accessible when it was founded in June 2011. Inspired by their own efforts to gain entryway to higher education, Samuel Uy and Gregorio Uy Jr. contacted Isabela State University's guidance counselors with a ground-breaking suggestion. Their concept was simple yet revolutionary: providing financial assistance to deserving, underprivileged college students in exchange for these scholars to "pay it forward" in the future. What began as a help offer to more than 30 students has now grown into a thriving foundation with over 100 scholars by 2023.
